Adios TextPattern, Hello WordPress!

Published on 08/06/2005 in TextPattern, WordPress

After much consideration, I’ve decided to convert webjones.org to WordPress 1.5. Originally, the site was running a perverted combination of MT 2.64, Greymatter and plain ole HTML. Around the time I converted my blog to WordPress, I wanted a change at webjones.org. But I was just starting out with WordPress and at the time, it just didn’t offer the features (easy uploading of images, creation of thumbnails on the fly) that made TXP more attractive. But now that WordPress has grown by leaps and bounds, and has the convenient Pages feature, I think it’s time to make a change.

You see a new design here, which I call lozenge. It’s minimalist, with a splash of my all-time favorite color, red. The site will be down for the rest of the day while I make the switch. Web design clients can ALWAYS contact me at webjones@webjones.org or via ICQ at 32626429.

And I’ve left comments open on this post so you can report any misbehavior with regard to the new design or the WordPress install. Or if you just want to critique the design (or tell me how wonderful it is!).
